A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of taking a group of young people to the Camden 2v2 Basketball Tournament hosted by @fnp.camden 🏀 Shoutout to this amazing duo—not only did they compete, but they worked together seamlessly and won the tournament! 🙌 Huge thanks to @coach_dee7 , the referee of the day, for helping make the event a success.
Events like this are so important for young people—they provide opportunities to build teamwork, confidence, and resilience, while creating a safe and positive environment for growth. 🌟 Well done to everyone who took part—it was a fantastic evening. Here’s to many more to come💪

Last week, we emptied one of our knife bins our dedicated team works around the clock, helping remove knives from schools, young people, parents, and communities and seeing these knives laid out brings mixed emotions. Relief that they’re now off the streets, but a heavy reminder of the work still ahead. But it’s not just about taking knives away; it’s about the aftercare we provide. We support young people in applying for jobs, returning to education, and building life skills to secure a brighter future. Mary’s Charity, we’re committed to creating safer communities and brighter futures.

As many of you know, we’re currently renovating our youth centre, including laying down brand-new flooring. To mark this exciting milestone, we’ve decided to place a *time capsule* beneath it!
Our young people filled the capsule with items that are meaningful to them, and we’ve included photos capturing 17 incredible years of Mary’s Charity. This capsule will hold our memories and the spirit of our work for future generations to discover. Here’s to the next chapter! 💫🚀

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Elijah Williams for his incredible donation of appliances to support the young people we work with. Elijah, understands the challenges faced by individuals leaving prison, particularly the lack of access to basic essentials.
Elijah launched The Fresh Home Initiative, a project aimed at providing home essentials like bedding, kitchen supplies, and toiletries to help individuals transitioning back into the community. His initiative aligns perfectly with our mission at Mary’s Charity, as we receive numerous calls each month from young people recently released and in need of support.
This donation is not just about items—it’s about showing our young people that their community cares and is here to help them build a brighter future.
We also want to thank @camdengiving for believing in Elijah’s vision and awarding him the grant to start this amazing cause. Together, we’re making a real impact. 💫
