We’re beyond excited to share the launch of My Mary’s Story, a podcast that shines a light on the inspiring, transformative journeys of young people supported by Mary’s Charity. This project has been made possible thanks to The Leathersellers’ Adverse Childhood Events Grant and our incredible partnership with the iconic Roundhouse, a hub for creativity and community.

At Mary’s Charity, we believe in the power of connection through storytelling. This podcast is an opportunity to hear directly from young people who have experienced Mary’s Charity’s support firsthand, as well as the dedicated team members who walk alongside them during their journey.

Why Are We Taking to the Airwaves?

Stories are powerful. They allow us to connect, empathise, and understand in ways nothing else can. At Mary’s Charity, we’ve seen time and again how hearing young people tell their own stories can inspire hope, challenge perceptions, and drive meaningful change.

These are not just any stories they’re deeply personal accounts of resilience, transformation, and hope. Young people open up about the challenges they’ve faced, the pivotal role Mary’s played in their lives, and the incredible outcomes they’ve achieved. Our podcast will also feature members of our team, youth workers, mentors, and staff who share their experiences of working with these young individuals. They’ll talk about the challenges they encounter, the triumphs they celebrate, and why they believe in the mission of Mary’s Charity.

My Mary’s Story is hosted by the brilliant Laura Asare, a professionally trained actress and facilitator who brings her warmth and expertise to every episode. Laura sets the stage for conversations between young people and their youth workers, offering an honest and heartfelt look into their lives and the life-changing relationships they’ve built.

This podcast is more than just storytelling—it’s a chance for young people to explore the creative industry and develop new skills in podcasting. It’s about giving them a voice, a platform, and the tools they need to tell their stories authentically.
